Volunteering

Make a Difference, One Scout at a Time

You don’t need to be an expert in camping, crafts, or knots. You just need a willingness to show up, pitch in, and help kids grow into confident, capable young people. Whether you can give an hour a week or help at special events, your involvement matters.

We need:

  • Den Leaders (lead small groups with support and training)
  • Event Helpers (one-day commitments for special activities)
  • Behind-the-Scenes Heroes (logistics, communications, planning)
  • Mentors, motivators, and role models

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, retiree, or community member—there’s a place for you in our pack.

If you’re interested, let us know at our next event or email scoutspack499@gmail.com to learn more.

Cub Scout Uniforms

Cub Scouts wear two different uniforms

Class A

""

Cub Scouts wear the Class A uniform, which is the official uniform, for formal events like Pack meetings, ceremonies, and community service activities.

Download our Pack 499 Class A Uniform guide to learn more.

Before you buy, ask us for the size you need. We have many donated previously-adventured uniforms and patches.

A couple of tips:

  • Buy a bigger shirt than you need right now. Your scout will grow through the program and can use the same uniform until 5th Grade Webelos.
  • Not confident in your sewing? If you stop in the physical location, they can sew them for you. Or heatbond works to hold them in place – then you can throw in a few stitches to secure the corners if needed.
