Camp Baker’s Trail & Taste Adventure: Knife safety and camp cooking skills. Skill stations include Knife Safety, Food Prep, & Whittling Basics, Dutch Oven Cooking Basics, Foil Pack Cooking Skills, Trail Snack Creation and more.

This event is limited to Scouts in Webelos or Arrow of Light dens (4th or 5th graders). The event occurs in June after the close of school and after rankups, so 2025-2026 Bears will be Webelos at the time of this event.

2026 Washington Wild Things Scout Night

Join the Wild Things for some summer fun with a baseball game and sleepover at the ballpark! Stick around after the game to play catch, have fun with friends and camp out in the outfield. All Scouts and Leaders will receive a Wild Things Scout Patch to attend.

2026 Scouts Day Camp

Monday, July 13 – Wednesday July 15, 2026
Camp Baker
9am-4pm

Cub Scout Day Camp is three days of exciting fun, exciting program activities and adventure at a location close to home with no overnight stay. Day Camp is an introductory outdoor program for Tigers, Cub Scouts, and Webelos with little camping experience. Programs are run by highly trained volunteers and are inspected and accredited annually by the Laurel Highlands Council.

2026 Rodeo Adventure at Camp Independence

BYOT (Bring Your Own Tent)

Camp Independence is a bring your own tent facility. If you don’t have a tent for your family, no problem. We have plenty of nylon dome tents that we can loan to you for your stay. Just let us know how many you’ll need.

Camp Independence Session Options:

  • Pack Camp – Perfect for families with multiple Scouts. Pack Camp provides a program for all age groups in the pack at the same time. Age groups will be divided up to receive age-specific programs and activities during the day while getting to participate in campwide programing, campfires, and meals as a whole group.
  • Webelos & Arrow of Light Session –  Back by popular demand! This program is tailored specifically to our Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts as they prepare to move toward Scouts BSA camps.
